Finally, the Debate

After several weeks of speculation, yesterday, Jordan B. Peterson officially announced when and where will take place the debate with Slavoj Žižek.

In his latest video, the Canadian psychologist and professor said the debate will be held at the Sony Center in Toronto (Canada) on Friday, April 19. The topic of the discussion will be: “Happiness: Marxism vs. Capitalism.”

The presale (code JBPSZ) will begin on Thursday, February 28 at 11:00 a.m. local time, until Thursday, February 28, at 10:00 p.m. General sales will begin on Friday, February 29 at 10:00 a.m. local time.

Slavoj Žižek vs. Jordan B. Peterson

Both intellectuals have a long career in their respective academic fields. However, with more than 80 books published, Žižek has a more substantial career as an author. The Canadian professor, on the other hand, has just two volumes. Peterson has also been at the center of the debate because of his opinions and ideas — controversial for some, right for others — about political correctness, feminism, and what he defines as cultural Marxism.

Žižek, on the other side, has made clear his critical position about the so-called political correctness. Nonetheless, he criticizes J. B. Peterson for his reductionist vision and his “conspiracy theories.”

Without any doubt, this promises to be the debate of the century. Beyond the grandiloquence, the discussion will set face to face two hostile ideological forces around the popular but incomprehensible theme of happiness. This could be the intellectual confrontation of the new cold war.

We leave the conclusions to readers and assistants …

  1. Definitely Zizek. He has a theory, a cosmovision, he is more coherent and argumentative. Peterson just lobsters and self-help narratives…

  2. Zizek wins, hands down! Peterson is not even allowed to carry his books. K.O. first round, go Zizek! Bumaje!

  3. Peterson is not in Zizek’s league. Not even close. I worry whether they will even find common ground as Zizek has actually taken the time to understand the philosophies that Peterson reflexively rejects. How do you describe the colour blue to a blind person? But great that Slavoj can make some money, I guess.

  4. Zizek is a superficial lunatic. I hope Marxists, someday, get a taste of their murderous ideology at play. Unfortunately they’ll be discarded promptly like the “useful idiots” they are by the elite central planners.

  5. no match.peterson is an ignorant, relying on conspiracy theories. he was not even able to comprehend complex analysis and problem posed by ziizak
